Ways To Put On The EZ Lift Vest
Caregivers:
When helping someone apply the EZ Lift Vest, always tell them what you are doing so they are not startled.
How to Apply the EZ Lift Vest

With the elbow bent, guide the patient's arm through the arm opening

Using the adjustable chest and waist contour straps, loop the straps through the rings and comfortably secure in place (view back of garment)

Zip in place

Using the adjustable back contour straps, comfortably secure in place

The contour straps provide a tapered, snug and secured fit during transfer maneuvers

Ensure the contour straps are applied comfortably, and not secured too tightly
As an alternative to bending the elbow

Place the patient's arm through the arm opening

Position the vest across the patient's back

In the same manner as putting on a blouse or shirt, lower the vest to the waist and guide the patient's opposite arm through the arm opening

Place the patient's affected arm in the arm opening first

Wrap the EZ Lift Vest across the back

With the elbow bent, guide the patient's unaffected arm through the arm opening
As an alternative to bending the elbow

Place the patient's affected arm through the arm opening first

Position the vest across the patient's back.

In the same manner as putting on a blouse or shirt, lower the vest to the waist and guide the patient's unaffected arm through the arm opening

EZ Lift Vest

Use your unaffected arm to dress the affected side first.

To undress, remove the EZ Lift Vest from the unaffected side first, then the affected side.
